Rhodiola (also known as arctic root or golden root, and its scientific name is Rhodiola rosea) is an herb that grows in the cold, mountainous regions of Europe and Asia. Rhodiola root contains more than 140 active ingredients, the two most potent of which are rosavin and salidroside.

There are more than 90 species of Rhodiola in the world, and more than 70 species in China are mainly distributed in the northern hemisphere (alpine zone), northern Asia, North Korea, Japan, North America and Northern Europe. There are three commonly used:
1. Rhodiola Rosea L.
2. Rhodiola Sachalinensis A.BOR
3. Rhodiola Crenulata H. OHBA
In China, the Rhodiola Rosea Extract Powder mainly from Rhodiola Rosea. and Rhodiola Crenulata. Rhodiola Rosea. is mainly produced in Xinjiang and its active ingredient is Rosavins. Rhodiola Crenulata is mainly produced in Tibet and its active ingredient is Salidroside.
